NYC or bust

I'm working with a new client in Manhatten.  Today I did my first "remote shop" for the darling doll.  Here's what I did...  I started at my favorite big box nationwide store.  I get to buy all of these wonderful things and they ship to their other stores for free.  So always ask.

I wanted a super cheery palette.  She was coming off of a fire engine red sofa.  We needed to tone it down.  I chose a grey as my jumping off point.  From there I layered in navy blue, baby blue, marigold and white.  Mixing my metals from gold leafed candlesticks to slick Mercury glass.  A natural element like the whitewashed pods, and orchid give a nice texture to the room.  The stone bookends elevate the style to a more chic eclectic feel.  Especially when we add a beautiful painted sisal rug, and a grass cloth Roman shades on the Manhatten Windows.

I'm loving this project!  Thanks MC!!!

Happy Hollydays!

My favorite time of year is Christmas.  I enjoy so much getting out each one of my boxes of decorations.  Opening them up is like getting early Christmas presents .

Every year I try to hit the after Christmas sales and then pack them away for next year.  Someone can find many bargains that way when people are out of the Christmas mood.

Last year I did a bag free Christmas, which means that every present was wrapped in a box under the tree.  It took a lot of effort but it was worth it to see all of the presents wrapped beautifully underneath the tree.

This year I hung large red balls from my entryway chandelier and used big wide ribbon mesh to weave in and around them.

I placed my extra-large Christmas bulbs in the alcove underneath my art for dramatic appeal.  Getting up and down the ladder so many times is not my idea of fun, but when there is decorating to be
done - danger or no danger I am there!

So give me an S on my chest for my effort this year to get the house decorated in a beautiful fashion.  My family enjoys and appreciates all of my hard work.

Now if we could just stage our pictures so that all of my decorating can be shown that would make me happy!  My family, not so much, they hate for me to reposition them several times so that I can get the right shot.  Such is the life of living with an interior designer...  I only ever want to do pretty.

My Christmas Mantle

Every year I do my decorations different.  This year I am adding Christmas cheer in traditional green, red and gold.  Don't be fooled by my color pallet, this is not your granny's traditional Christmas!  Inspired by our trip to Versailles I added a plethora of fleur di lis, just like King Loius would have done to my mantle. I'm happy with the final product.

A Glam Little Sale

I have started my own line of home accessories!  Accented exclusively by Swarovski crystals, these pillows and wall art add a little glam to every house.

Swarovski crystal studded stationery and journals round out my collection.

I hosted several sample sales and had success.  Thanks to all those who came out and supported HollyWould Originals.

My view from breakfast!

The architecture museum to my right and the Eiffel Tower to my left!

Redo in Buckhead Georgia

This home already had all the bells and whistles.  I came in and rearranged the furniture for a more cohesive look and to better show off the homeowners furniture.
